Marion County property tax offices are split between Hannibal and Palmyra

Marion County property tax work can involve the Assessor in Hannibal and Collector service in Palmyra or Hannibal, so confirm the office before making the trip.

One Marion County tax errand can send you to Hannibal; another can point to Palmyra.

The Assessor’s Office is listed at 906 Broadway in Hannibal, with separate phone lines for real estate and personal property. Collector service appears in both Hannibal and Palmyra, and the county roster places the Collector at 100 South Main in Palmyra.

So “the courthouse” is too loose. Assessment, account searches, and personal-property filing start with the Assessor. Payments, receipts, and collection questions start with the Collector. Before you drive from one town to the other, name the job first: value or record on one side, payment or receipt on the other. That little split is the difference between the right counter and the wrong town.
