Printing a tax receipt may be a separate step

Christian County's online payment page tells users to return to the main menu and select the print-receipts option after paying.

Paying the tax and walking away with a usable receipt are not always the same click in Christian County. The online tax path can send a driver back to the main menu before the print-receipts option appears.

A plate-renewal errand can stall right there. The license office usually needs proof that the personal-property tax bill was paid, and a payment confirmation is not always the same thing as the paid tax receipt a clerk wants to see.

After paying, stay on the site long enough to print or save the receipt, or make sure you can get back to it through the Collector’s search tools. If the receipt is missing, ask the Collector about the receipt path before driving to a license office with only a payment note.
