Washington County online tax payments need account or last name

Washington County's collector and online tax inquiry both warn residents to use the correct search field and allow processing time for online payments.

A tax-search form can turn into a small puzzle if the wrong field gets used.

For Washington County online tax payments, the collector’s instructions point residents to the account number or last name and ask users to allow 24 hours for the office to receive and process an online payment.

The online inquiry also separates real estate search from personal property search. Account number, parcel number, and owner name are not always interchangeable, so the first failed search does not always mean the account is missing.

For a payment or receipt that does not appear right away, give the processing window room first. Then try the search field that matches the record: real estate, personal property, account number, or owner name.
