Snow routes are a parking question before a driving question

The City posts arterial, secondary, and hill snow routes, and its winter guidance tells residents to avoid parking on those routes during storms.

In St. Louis City, snow planning is not just about whether a street gets plowed. The Street Division maps snow routes as arterial, secondary, and hill routes, and it posts a winter weather page with route lists and storm guidance.

The practical resident point is parking. The City’s storm guidance advises residents not to park on a snow route when a storm is forecast. It also warns that vehicles left too far from the curb and interfering with traffic can be towed. Before a winter storm, check the City snow-route map for your block.
