Tax receipt searches run through the collector
St. Francois County's collector page points residents to online tax inquiry for real estate, personal property, and merchant license records.
For St. Francois County tax-payment questions, start with the collector. The county collector page says that office collects current and delinquent property taxes for the county and political subdivisions. The county’s online payment page points to a tax inquiry site for paid or unpaid real estate, personal property, and merchant license records.
That is different from filing a personal-property list. The assessor handles the assessment record; the collector handles payment and receipt questions after taxes are billed.
This is especially useful before a license-plate renewal errand. If you need proof that tax was paid, use the collector’s tax inquiry or contact the collector. If the record itself is missing or wrong, route back to the assessor.
