Neosho building permits now start with an online account

The City of Neosho says building permit applicants need an account in the city permit portal before applying or checking permit progress.

Inside Neosho, a building project starts with the city, not the Newton County courthouse. The city says its community development building permit portal lets applicants apply for building permits and check progress online.

The permit page says an account is required before applying. The city asks new users to register and allow 24 to 48 hours for account approval. The Building Inspections page says the department issues building permits and sub-permits and performs inspections for new homes, new commercial buildings, remodels, additions, demolitions, moving, tents, electrical, plumbing, and signage.

Before a project begins, confirm whether the address is inside Neosho city limits and use the city’s permit portal and inspection pages.
