Union Covered Bridge is Monroe County's covered-bridge landmark
Union Covered Bridge State Historic Site near Paris gives Monroe County a rare Burr-arch covered bridge tied to local road history.
Union Covered Bridge is a local landmark with a specific engineering story. Missouri State Parks says it was built in 1871 and served travelers in Monroe County for 99 years. It is the only one of the state’s four remaining covered bridges that represents the Burr-arch truss design.
