Forest City adds a civic-history stop on MO 111
Holt County history is not only the courthouse in Oregon or the I-29 stop at Mound City. Missouri State Parks’ National Register list includes City Hall on MO 111 in Forest City.
That is a small but useful marker for how many river-bottom towns carry their own civic layer. Forest City sits close to Missouri River access and to Bob Brown Conservation Area, and Holt County’s attractions page also points visitors toward the Forest City Drug Store Museum.
Treat this as a history-and-place note, not an office-routing note. Current county business still runs through the county offices listed by Holt County, and any museum visit needs current local confirmation. But for a local reader tracing why the county has several small centers, Forest City belongs on the map.
