The Niangua River and the Bennett Spring area edge Dallas County

The Niangua River and the Bennett Spring area sit along the Laclede-Dallas county edge, making them the county's most significant outdoors draw and a shared regional resource rather than a purely Laclede County feature

The Niangua River and Bennett Spring sit on the eastern edge of Dallas County, where it meets Laclede County. Bennett Spring is a large spring. Its cold water forms a stream that flows into the Niangua River. The stream is full of trout. Bennett Spring State Park sits near the county line, in both Dallas and Laclede counties.

This water is a shared regional treasure. If you live in Dallas County, you may be closer to it than to Buffalo, the county seat.

Two state offices share the work here. Missouri State Parks runs the park, the campgrounds, and the day-use areas. The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) looks after the trout and sets the fishing rules.

Book a park stay through State Parks. Check the latest fishing rules with MDC. And for the exact county line at any spot, confirm it on the official maps.
