Church Farm shows Cole County's Missouri River bottomland

MDC describes Church Farm Conservation Area as Missouri River bottomland in Cole County with a working-farm history before public conservation use.

Church Farm Conservation Area makes the Missouri River bottoms visible on the Cole County page. The Missouri Department of Conservation describes Church Farm as 1,277 acres of bottomland along the Missouri River in Cole County.

MDC also says it leased the area beginning in 2016. Before that, the Department of Corrections managed the land as a working farm staffed by inmates to help provide food for prisoners.

For a resident or visitor, the site is a reminder that Cole County’s public land includes river-bottom conservation ground, not only state buildings and city parks. Use MDC for the map, regulations, hunting or fishing rules, and access details.
