Cole County's map is an Assessor record tool

The Cole County Assessor provides an interactive mapping website for real estate information, but recorded documents still belong with the Recorder.

A Cole County parcel question often starts with the map, but it should not end there.

The Assessor’s interactive mapping website is a public tool for real estate information. It can help a buyer, owner, or neighbor identify the parcel, see basic assessment context, and understand nearby roads before asking a more formal question.

The map is not the whole property file. Deeds, plats, and other recorded documents belong with the Recorder of Deeds. Legal questions belong with the title process, an attorney, or the lender.

Use the Assessor map to get oriented. Then use the Recorder or title process for the documents that actually prove or change property rights.
