The recorder preserves Christian County land records
Christian County's Recorder of Deeds preserves real-estate land records, records many document types, and also handles marriage-license records.
A land-record question is different from a tax question.
In Christian County, the Recorder of Deeds is the public-record office for real-estate land records and many recorded documents. That can include deeds, real-property records, tax liens, marriage-license information, and military discharges.
The office split matters. The recorder handles recorded documents. The assessor values property and manages assessment records. The collector handles bills, payments, and receipts after the assessment side is done.
Before calling, name the document or record you need: deed, plat, lien, marriage license, military discharge, or another recorded item. That simple label usually points the question to the right counter and keeps a records errand from turning into a tax-office errand.
