Unincorporated development starts with Planning and Development

Christian County Planning and Development handles zoning and development requests for unincorporated Christian County.

Outside the city line is not the same as outside review in Christian County.

County Planning and Development handles unincorporated-area work such as conditional use permits, plats, subdivisions, zoning changes, and building-regulation questions. In a fast-growing county, a parcel can look rural and still have a county process attached to it.

The city boundary is the first question. Inside Ozark, Nixa, or another municipality, city rules may control the project. Outside those limits, the county planning and building-regulations pages are the starting point.

For a land split, new structure, driveway plan, or rural purchase, ask which jurisdiction owns the next step before assuming the address is free of local review.
