Barton County personal property assessment points to March 1
Barton County's assessor page tells residents to complete assessments by March 1 and offers online personal property filing.
March 1 is the date to circle for Barton County personal property. At the Barton County Courthouse on Gulf Street in Lamar, the Assessor handles the annual personal-property return; getting it in by then avoids the penalty path. Vehicles, equipment, and business personal property belong on the assessment side before the tax bill side ever starts.
Online filing is available for many residents. Some people use the QR code or online filing card that comes with the assessment sheet; others need to call the Assessor at 417-682-3553 and ask what account or form the office needs.
Keep the office split straight. Assessment and value stay with the Assessor. Bills, payments, and paid receipts come later through the Collector-Treasurer. If you moved, changed a mailing address, or need a waiver for license plates, start with the Assessor before the renewal errand gets tight.
