The hatchery below Table Rock Dam explains Taneycomo trout
The Shepherd of the Hills hatchery and conservation education center gives Taney County a very specific outdoor identity. MDC says the hatchery sits below Table Rock Dam and raises trout, with most production going into Lake Taneycomo.
That connects the dam, cold water, hatchery, and trout fishery in one place. It also gives visitors a source to check before treating Taneycomo like an ordinary warm-water lake.
For fishing rules, use MDC’s current Lake Taneycomo regulation source. For the hatchery grounds, trails, education center, boat access, or visitor information, use the Shepherd of the Hills MDC page.
That split keeps the story useful: the hatchery explains the place, while the current regulation page tells anglers what to do today.
