Taney County GIS is more than parcel mapping
Taney County says GIS supports the assessor, planning and zoning, precinct mapping, polling places, and 911 response maps.
A Taney County map can be doing several jobs at once. The GIS work began through a cooperative agreement with the City of Branson, and it now supports assessor parcel mapping, planning and zoning permit tracking, county clerk precinct and polling-place work, and 911 response maps.
That makes GIS a quiet civic layer under daily questions. One address may touch taxes, a permit, a voting precinct, emergency response, and a rural road all at the same time. In a county with tourism addresses, lake roads, hollows, and quick growth, the map helps people start in the right place.
Treat GIS as the orientation tool. For a legal parcel record, a permit decision, a precinct question, or an address change, the responsible county office still has the final answer.
