Chubb Trail links county parks and Castlewood

trailsstate parkscounty parks

Chubb Trail is a good example of why St. Louis County outdoor planning needs more than one agency source. Missouri State Parks says the trail was developed jointly by Missouri DNR and St. Louis County Parks. It also says the trail can be accessed from Lone Elk or West Tyson county parks.

For a hiker, bicyclist, or equestrian, that means the trail can cross from a state-park question into a county-park access question. Check Castlewood State Park for the state trail context, then check St. Louis County Parks for the county park access points.

The practical job is avoiding a wrong parking or rules assumption.

That matters because the same trail day can involve a state park trail page and a county park entrance.
