St. Charles County has a local senior real estate tax relief program
St. Charles County’s senior real estate tax relief program is local enough that homeowners should check the county page, not just statewide summaries. For the 2026 tax year, the county listed the application period as March 1 through July 6, 2026, and that window has ended; the county page carries the current cycle’s dates. The same page says the program applies to the primary residence of St. Charles County residents who were at least 62 years old and living at the property as of Jan. 1, 2026.
The practical point is timing and fit. This is not a general discount for every property a senior owns, and it is not automatic just because someone is old enough. If the home might qualify, use the county program page for the current cycle’s application instructions and renewal details; for 2026, the same page offers a status-lookup tool for submitted applications and a correction path for denials.
