Blue Spring is beautiful, but the access road matters
Blue Spring is a Current River landmark near Eminence, and the National Park Service warns that the steep dirt access road is not recommended for large RVs or buses.
Blue Spring is a Shannon County note with both beauty and logistics. The National Park Service places Blue Spring on the Current River, about 14 miles east of Eminence or 14 miles west of Ellington off State Route 106. NPS also says the spring is over 310 feet deep.
The access detail is just as important as the spring. NPS says a long dirt road leads from the highway to the parking area, that the road is very steep, and that it is not recommended for large RVs or buses. From the parking area, visitors still have a short walk down to the spring.
That makes Blue Spring a good example of Shannon County trip planning. A map pin can make a place look easy. The official park page tells you to think about vehicle size, road surface, and walking access before you go.
