Phelps County personal property can be e-filed with the assessor
Phelps County's assessor provides personal-property e-filing and guidance for January 1 lists, new residents, and tax waivers.
Rolla vehicle paperwork often starts at the Phelps County Courthouse, not at the license office. Personal property is tied to where you lived on January 1 and what taxable property you owned that day, including vehicles and other listed items.
The assessor’s site gives Phelps County taxpayers an e-file personal property path, plus a personal property search and tax waiver request link. New Missouri residents have a different first step: bring registration papers or titles so the Assessor’s Office can set up an account for the upcoming tax year.
The waiver piece is easy to mix up. New residents may qualify for a statement of no personal property tax due for the first year they were not Missouri residents on January 1. Paid receipt or waiver, the paperwork begins with the assessment record.
