Land-record questions start with the Pettis County Recorder
The Pettis County Recorder is where deeds, easements, plats, surveys, and other land records enter the official county paper trail.
If you are buying, selling, inheriting, or researching Pettis County property, the recorder is the official land-record office. Pettis County says the Recorder of Deeds records and preserves real-estate land records for the county.
The office records documents such as deeds of trust, real-estate deeds, releases, easements, subdivision plats, surveys, powers of attorney, tax liens, and real-estate UCC documents. That does not replace a title company or attorney. It does tell you where the official paper trail lives.
The recorder page also points users toward Laredo subscriptions for county land-record access and a free Property Fraud Alert service for Pettis County property owners. For a buyer or landowner, the habit is simple: confirm the deed, easements, and plat or survey status from the recorder’s source. Do not rely only on a listing or parcel map.
