Ozarks (Lake)
Carpenter Memorial is quiet conservation land north of Laurie
Carpenter Memorial Conservation Area gives Morgan County a forested MDC layer away from the most visible Lake of the Ozarks corridors.
Carpenter Memorial Conservation Area sits in the quieter part of the Morgan County map. MDC gives directions from Laurie, north on Highway 135 and then onto smaller roads.
That is useful color because it moves the county page beyond the main lake towns. Morgan County also has forested public land, back-road access, and MDC-managed places that explain the rural side of the lake region.
Use MDC for the map and rules before heading in, because small public areas can have access points that are easy to miss.
For a visitor or resident, the note is simple: not every outdoor errand here is a marina or state park. Some of the county’s public land is tucked into the hills.
