Miller County tax paperwork can follow you to the license office
Plate renewal month is a bad time to discover a county tax problem. Missouri plate renewal can require proof that personal property tax is handled, usually through a paid county receipt or a statement of non-assessment.
For Miller County, the county-side trail runs through the Collector and the tax payment portal. The Collector office is in Tuscumbia, and that is the right starting point for paid receipts, account questions, and payment status before a license-office visit.
The part that trips people up is timing. A vehicle may be ready for new tags, but the tax record may still be unpaid, under an old address, or tied to a January 1 residence question. Sort the county record first, then bring the receipt or non-assessment paperwork into the plate-renewal step. It saves the extra trip when the line is already long.
