Vienna and Belle anchor different school layers in Maries County
Maries County has school identity tied to both Vienna and Belle, so families should check the official district layer before assuming a school from a town name.
Vienna and Belle both show up in the school map of Maries County. Maries County R-I centers its elementary, middle, and high school grades on one campus in Vienna. Maries County R-2 gives its district contact at 503 W. 3rd Street in Belle.
That is more than school branding. A family can hear “Maries County” and picture one county seat, but daily school life may point toward Vienna or Belle depending on the district boundary. A town name on a mailing address is only a clue.
School maps from DESE are reference tools, and boundary questions still need the right local authority. The safer way to read the county is to treat school districts as their own civic layer. Ask which district serves the address, then line that answer up with the town, county, and service-district pieces. Vienna and Belle are both real anchors here; the boundary decides which one applies.
