Cuivre River State Park near Troy

cuivre river state parkhikingcampingstate park

Cuivre River State Park sits near Troy in Lincoln County. Missouri State Parks calls it one of the state’s largest and most rugged parks. The land is wooded and rocky, with a wilder feel than the farm country around it. You can hike, backpack, camp, fish, swim, and ride horses there. Lake Lincoln is open for swimming, fishing, and boating with electric motors. The park also holds protected natural areas and wild areas. Trails, campgrounds, hours, and water access change with the season and with upkeep. Before you go, check the official Missouri State Parks page for the park so you have the current details. That way you are not planning around an old trail list or a campground that is closed for repairs.
