Assessment and collection are separate Lincoln County jobs

Lincoln County's assessor page separates assessment authority from collection authority, which helps route property-tax questions.

Lincoln County’s own assessor page gives a clean way to route tax questions. It says the assessor is responsible for establishing fair market value for property in Lincoln County. It also separates tax bills into assessment authority, taxing authority, and collection authority, with the collector responsible for collecting the amount assigned to each property owner.

That distinction saves time. If the question is value, ownership record, classification, or a personal-property listing, start with the assessor. If the question is payment, a printed receipt, delinquency, or a tax statement, start with the collector.

For a buyer, resident, or vehicle owner, keep the parcel number, account number, tax year, and address together. The right office depends on the problem, not just the word “tax.”
