Warrensburg building permits use a city portal
Inside Warrensburg, a building project is a city errand before it is a Johnson County errand. Building permit applications go through the city’s online permit system, and Community Development handles building-code questions, permit review, inspections, and dangerous-building work.
Zoning is part of the same city layer. Warrensburg has zoning districts with standards for items such as lot size, height, setbacks, parking, and landscaping. Those rules apply inside city limits, where the county courthouse is not the front door for a city permit.
For a Warrensburg address, start with the city portal and Community Development. For land outside a city, shift back to Johnson County’s county-level planning guidance and road-access rules.
