Johnson County's senior tax credit starts with the Collector

Johnson County directs senior real-estate tax credit questions to the Collector, with county materials explaining the local program and application period.

For older homeowners around Warrensburg, Knob Noster, Holden, and rural Johnson County, the senior real-estate tax credit is a Collector errand, but it is not the same task as paying a bill. Tax receipts, delinquent bills, merchant licenses, and the senior credit workflow can share a counter without sharing the same rules.

Ordinance 25-01 is the local handle for the program under Missouri’s senior tax-credit authority. The application window and forms belong with Johnson County’s current instructions, not a neighbor’s memory from last year.

Before counting on the credit, check the senior tax credit page and contact the Collector about what Johnson County is accepting now. A small timing mistake can turn a real benefit into next year’s question.
