Jefferson County building permits use the Citizen Portal
Jefferson County Code Enforcement accepts building-permit applications, inspections, contractor licenses, and payments through its Citizen Portal.
For Jefferson County building paperwork, the county’s Citizen Portal is the current front door. The building-permits page says the Code Enforcement Division accepts applications and payments through the portal. The permits page says residents, contractors, and businesses can apply for building permits, inspections, and contractor licenses online.
That helps before a remodel, accessory building, deck, or contractor job. Registering for the portal is separate from knowing whether the county is the right jurisdiction. A city address may still need a city process, and a county address may involve other departments depending on the work.
The practical move is to confirm the property location first, then use Jefferson County’s Code Enforcement permit page for county building permits, inspection scheduling, payment instructions, and status checks.
