Kellogg Lake Park gives Carthage a small-lake recreation layer
Kellogg Lake Park adds a Carthage outdoor note that is not the courthouse square or Route 66. The city parks page places the lake park on Esterly Drive and describes outdoor activities such as kayaking and fishing. Carthage park rules also spell out that electric-motor watercraft are allowed in Kellogg Lake, while city ponds, lakes, and creeks are reserved for wildlife rather than swimming.
The disc golf page adds another local layer at Kellogg Lake. For a resident, the useful point is that small-lake recreation here is a city parks question, not an MDC conservation-area question.
Check Carthage Parks and Recreation before assuming watercraft, swimming, or disc-golf rules.
That makes the lake useful for planning, not just pretty on a map.
