County offices are split between Carthage and Joplin
Jasper County publishes separate Carthage and Joplin office lists, so courthouse errands can depend on which side of the county you need.
Carthage and Joplin both show up in Jasper County’s office map. The Carthage list includes assessor, collector, recorder, county clerk, GIS, sheriff, treasurer, and other contacts at or near the courthouse. The Joplin list includes personal property and real estate assessor contacts, the county clerk, county collector, and circuit clerk office.
That split changes ordinary errands. A Joplin resident may not need to drive to Carthage for every county question. At the same time, not every county office is duplicated in Joplin, and some questions still belong with a city office or a state office.
The plain approach is to match the task to the department first, then the city. Deed recording, tax payment, assessment, court, and clerk questions can land in different places even inside the same county.
