Sparrowfoot gives Clinton a close Truman Lake campground

Sparrowfoot Campground near Clinton ties Henry County to Harry S. Truman Lake's federal recreation system, boat access, and Grand River Arm.

Clinton is already the western end of the Katy Trail, but Henry County also has a close Truman Lake story. Sparrowfoot Campground sits near Clinton on Harry S. Truman Lake, with campsites, picnic shelters, playground space, showers, drinking water, a dump station, and a boat ramp listed through Recreation.gov.

That makes the Clinton area feel more connected to the lake system. USACE describes Truman Reservoir as a major flood-control reservoir with extensive recreation around the lake, including parks, boat ramps, campgrounds, marinas, picnic areas, beaches, and visitor facilities.

For Henry County, Sparrowfoot is useful because it makes Truman Lake practical from Clinton. It is not only a Benton County or Warsaw story. The Grand River Arm and nearby campgrounds put the lake into Henry County’s daily recreation map too.

Use Recreation.gov for reservations and current campground details, and USACE for broader lake information, lake levels, and project updates.
