Henry County Clerk work is more than elections

The clerk’s office in Henry County wears more than an election hat. Voter registration and election administration are part of the job, but so are records management, tax administration, accounts payable, payroll, budget work, human resources, and clerk duties for the County Commission.

That range helps explain why some courthouse questions do not fit neatly at the assessor, collector, recorder, road, or court counter. A commission record, a general county-government record, or a budget-related question may begin with the clerk even when it has nothing to do with a ballot.

Residents can sort the errand by the kind of record they need. Election questions are one lane. Commission records, tax administration, and general county records may be another, still under the clerk’s roof.
