Henry County personal property starts with the assessor

Henry County personal-property and value questions start with the assessor before they become collector-payment questions.

Clinton is where a lot of Henry County personal-property confusion splits into two errands. The Assessor side is for listing and valuing taxable personal property before the tax bill reaches the Collector. Payment and receipts come later.

For a vehicle owner, the split shows up before plate renewal season. A paid receipt cannot fix a bad underlying assessment record. If the account is missing a vehicle, still shows one that was sold, or has the wrong mailing information, start with the Assessor and the personal-property site. Once the record is right and the bill is paid, the Collector is the receipt office.

Think of it as record first, payment second. Henry County’s assessor tools are the local starting point when the question is what the county thinks you own.
