County building permits are for unincorporated Greene County

Greene County Building Regulations says its permit jurisdiction is in the unincorporated parts of the county, not inside every city limit.

A building project near town can still be a county question, but only after you know where the parcel sits. Greene County Building Regulations handles permits for construction in unincorporated parts of the county. Its permit reach is not the same inside every city limit.

That location check belongs near the front of a remodel, outbuilding, or new construction plan. A parcel in Springfield, Republic, Willard, Strafford, or another city may need city routing instead. A parcel outside city limits is more likely to start with Greene County Building Regulations.

The useful move is to sort the jurisdiction before you get deep into plans or bids. It keeps the permit conversation pointed at the office that can actually answer for that property.
