Franklin County collector bills include many taxing entities
Franklin County's collector collects and distributes taxes for the county and dozens of other taxing entities, so a bill can carry several local layers.
A Franklin County tax bill can carry more local layers than the word “county” suggests. The Collector of Revenue collects and distributes current and delinquent taxes for Franklin County and 64 other taxing entities inside the county, so one parcel can sit under a school levy, fire district, city layer, levee district, or other local charge.
The collector side is about billing, payment, receipts, delinquent taxes, and distributing money after the levies are applied. Value and classification start earlier with the assessor. That split is easy to miss when a buyer asks why a bill changed, why two nearby parcels do not match, or why a personal property receipt is not an assessment record.
For a Union errand or a closing packet, keep the parcel, tax year, and taxing-entity list together. The useful question is not just “what is the county tax?” It is “which local entities are on this address, and which office can explain the part I am looking at?”
