Tax bills and receipts can be searched online

Cape Girardeau County's Collector says tax bills and receipts can be searched online, with different search hints for personal property and real estate.

Cape Girardeau County gives tax bills and receipts their own online search, which helps when the license office, a lender, or your year-end folder needs a copy. The Collector links that search through Municipal Online Payments.

Search small. For personal property, use the parcel number or name. For real estate, use name, address, or parcel number, and one search term usually works better than stacking several. The old bill or receipt can be the fastest clue because it carries the exact name or parcel style.

An online payment confirmation is not an instant paid receipt. Paid receipts can take several days after online payment; an immediate receipt has to go through the Collector’s Office.
