Adair County tax receipts matter before plate renewal

Adair County drivers should check the Collector's paid personal property tax receipt before renewing Missouri license plates.

A license-plate errand can send a driver back to the county tax record.

In Adair County, the Collector issues the paid personal property tax receipt used for Missouri motor vehicle licensing. A one-year renewal points to the previous year’s receipt. A two-year renewal points to receipts for the last two years.

The state motor-vehicle rule has the same basic fork: bring the paid personal property tax receipt from the county of residence, or bring a statement of non-assessment if no tax was assessed for that year.

Before a license-office trip, make sure the Adair County receipt is paid, legible, and tied to the right tax year. If the listed vehicle is wrong, that is likely an assessment-record problem first.
